Allergies

Allergies occur when the immune system reacts excessively to substances that are normally harmless, such as foods, pollen, dust, animal dander or environmental triggers. These substances, known as allergens, can stimulate an immune response that leads to inflammation and a wide range of symptoms affecting the skin, respiratory system, digestive system and overall wellbeing.

Allergic symptoms may include sneezing, nasal congestion, itchy eyes, skin irritation, hives, digestive discomfort, headaches or fatigue, and can vary from mild sensitivities to more significant immune reactions.

Identifying underlying triggers and supporting immune health can play an important role in reducing symptom burden and improving quality of life.

How Nutritional Therapy can Support
Allergies

  • Helps identify potential underlying triggers contributing to allergic symptoms.

  • Assesses immune system function and inflammatory responses.

  • Explores digestive health and gut function, which can influence immune balance.

  • Identifies possible food sensitivities or environmental contributors.

  • Evaluates nutritional deficiencies that may impact immune resilience.

  • Provides a more personalised understanding of symptom patterns and triggers.

  • Supports the development of targeted nutrition, lifestyle and supplement recommendations.

  • Aims to reduce symptom frequency, severity and overall inflammatory load.

  • Encourages a holistic approach focused on long-term health and wellbeing rather than symptom management alone.
